Planning for Your Sitka Shore Excursion
Getting to us
We are located at Harrigan Centennial Hall, 330 Harbor Drive, Sitka, AK 99835. We are in walking distance from most downtown hotels and a short taxi ride from the Sitka airport and the Alaskan Marine Highway.
If you're coming directly from a cruise ship there are (2) different ways to get to us.
Important: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour departure. We recommend departing your ship at least one hour before tour departure time to ensure you don’t miss your tour.
What to bring and what to expect
Here are some tips to make your Sitka experience the best the best experience:
Arrive at our Harrigan Centennial Hall vender’s sign 15 minutes prior to scheduled tour time. Here we'll give you information for your tour departure.
For the Sitka Marine Tour please use the restroom prior to boarding; there are no lavatories seaward
Dress in layers; the weather in Sitka can be a bit temperamental; whether you’re seaward or shore-ward, being able to shed or add layers can make all the difference for a fun and comfortable trip.
Wear comfortable walking shoes; this is ideal footwear for both our land and marine tours.
Bring a light waterproof jacket in case of rain, either on land or at sea.
Don’t forget your camera (with plenty of batteries) to take pictures of the beautiful scenery, wildlife and historic sites.
1. Old Sitka Dock
If your cruise ship docks at the terminal north of town (Old Sitka Dock) you will need to take the free shuttle (Green or white and green Buses) to downtown Sitka to the visitor drop off point (Harrigan Centennial Hall). Here you’ll see a row of tour vendors. Baranof Tours holds the blue sign with our red & gold logo:
